C00002 00002		I have known Charles Restivo mainly in connection with his

	I have known Charles Restivo mainly in connection with his
editorship of the Prolog Digest which is a national on-line
electronic bulletin board maintained by him on the SCORE computer
of the Stanford Computer Science Department.  In my view this
effort which has been sustained over several years shows good
understanding of the scientific issues of logic programming,
good editorial judgment and a sustained high level effort.  In
personal discussion he shows himself to be intelligent, well informed,
and highly motivated.  He has no disabling mannerisms or defects.
Therefore, I can recommend him highly for admission to graduate school
in computer science even though he hasn't completed an undergraduate
degree and even though I have no direct sample of his scientific work.
